There are several options for generating ad hoc reports for a specific point in time:
For current information, the AC - Active Current Status file is a snapshot of active and on-leave positions for faculty and staff as of the previous Friday.
For separated positions, the SP - Separated Positions file is a snapshot of separated and retired positions for faculty and staff as of the close of the month.
For statistical reporting, the AN - Annual Current Status file is a snapshot of active and on-leave positions for faculty and staff as of October 31, of a given year. The reporting period of 10/31 represents the most statistically valid CSU employee population. AN files are available back to 1984. Note: The AN file is created on 11/01 for a given year and is not updated for retroactivity. If a lot of retroactivity has occurred, create an EH Current Status file.
For any point in time back to 1976, the Employment History Extract function can be used to create an EH current status file for faculty, staff, students (A98) and special pay appointments (A54 Transactions). For instructions on using this function, refer to your CIRS User Manual.
An additional option is to use the payment files to identify employees (faculty, staff, students and special pay appointments) paid for a specific pay period. Data files are available back to 1984. Caution! Employees may have multiple payments for a single pay period.
For information about the files listed above, refer to your CIRS Data Element Dictionary.
